Constipation

When your bowel movements are tough and do not happen as often as normal, you are most likely constipated. Normal frequency of bowel movements are different for each person.

Constipation can occur for many different reasons. Common reasons include: certain medicines, diet or activity changes, large consumption of dairy, eating or neurological disorders, IBS, dehydration, lack of fiber, overuse of laxatives, pregnancy, stress, and colon cancer.

CONSTIPATION SYMPTOMS

  • Less often than normal bowel movements
  • Hard or small stools
  • Sense that not everything came out
  • Swollen belly/belly pain
  • Puking

Going more than 3 days without having a bowel movement is usually too long.

If you are constipated and would like to seek medical attention, call or visit one of our conveniently located clinics.
